J. T. Barbarese is the author of four books of poems, most recently The Black Beach (UNT, 2005), and a translation of Euripides’ The Children of Heracles (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1999). His poems, fiction, and essays have appeared widely. “Super 8” is from a novel in stories, still in progress, titled American Transcripts. Barbarese teaches creative writing and literature at Rutgers University.
